Where does Allen Interactions’ ZebraZapps excel, where SmartBuilder and other major eLearning authoring tools fail?
Allen Interactions derives most of its income from building custom trainings. ZebraZapps was a tool Allen created primarily for internal use. They just happen to be sharing it for an relatively LOW price—$9/mo. They don’t care if the app is turning a profit. It’s seen more as a marketing tool to drive business their way. (The tool just happens to be robust and flashy—no pun intended.) If I were an independent contractor, I’d be all over this! In fact, I might even suggest it as a Church-wide HTML5 eLearning solution.
SmartBuilder and others have an opposite business model. Their primary focus is on selling their product and secondarily, they offer support to those who really need it. (But secretly they hope their clients don’t contact them.)
